Almost Memorial 4 on the way back from Old Buckenham [EGSV]!
Visited Old Buckenham [EGSV] today. Thought that the weather might stop us, but it cleared up to be a glorious day. Warm welcome from a very friendly airfield. Interesting final over high hay stacks and old farm machinery on the approach. Shorter runway than we are used to but a strong head wind helped! Very warm welcome, so will definitely return.
On the route back from Old Buckenham we found ourselves in the same piece of sky as a Spitfire. It had just broken away from the Memorial Flight of a Lancaster (Memorial 1) and a Hurricane (Memorial 3). We had watched them from Beachy Head yesterday at Airbourne and it was a fantastic feeling to be up there with them; a bit like swimming with dolphins.
These aircraft are regularly seen on British State occasions.
